— Post-reunion update in progress

Posted by reddevils'61 on October 18, 2011

Well, it’s all over but the ongoing reminiscing.

There are photos to gather and post, as well as comments from attendees that we hope will be forthcoming.

We also will create a page that lists “lost” classmates, that is, those whose whereabouts are unknown — just in case someone might know where they can be reached.

And, we are restructuring the other pages so that there will be a place for you to comment about the reunion itself. Right now, it is (in progress) at

So, email your reunion photos in to or, if you’ve burned them onto a CD, send and email asking for an address to which to send them. If the lighting is bad in any of the photos, we might be able to fix that, so send them anyway.

If you haven’t registered to be included in the SUNY Alumni Directory, you might want to do that so that you will not become one of the “lost.”

Meanwhile, while we wait for better photos to come in from the various classmates who had cameras, here’s a few to get the conversation going:

— Spread the word.

Posted by reddevils'61 on September 18, 2011

As of today, on the SUNY/Albany alumni site, there are 22 people registered to attend our 50th reunion. Take a look at who has signed up. If your name is not there, make sure it gets there in time. You can send in the RSVP that came with your invitation or register online. And spread the word among our classmates with whom you have kept in touch. Who knows when we will all get together like this again.

— Tony D’Onorfrio — In Memoriam

Posted by reddevils'61 on July 20, 2011

by John Sullivan

Last Thursday afternoon (July 14), Marcia Bailey called me to deliver the sad news that Tony D’Onofrio had had a brain hemorrhage, was on life support, and would be taken off life support as soon as the entire family arrived. Tony was buried this morning. When I sent the news to Elaine, she suggested that I might want to write something about Tony to share with our classmates. I do, and here it is.

In preparing to do this, I read over 30 tributes that were a part of Tony’s obituary that appeared in Today’s NEWSDAY (Long Island’s daily paper). The tributes came from across the country, with the overwhelming theme being what a positive influence Tony had been on their lives. My own effort was: “Tony humbled me with his character and kindness, humbled me with his wonderful wit, and honored me with his friendship.

At the end of the day, the best that any of can hope for is that we made a difference. Tony did that each and everyday of his life. When Tony meets his maker, with whom he had a very close and personal relationship, and is asked, “What did you do with your life, my son,” I hope Tony didn’t let his humility stand in the way of saying, “I made a difference.”

I am a better person for having known Tony. My world , and yours, was more because of Tony, and will be less without him.
